Troubleshooting Your Tablet

Like most technology on the market today, there may come a time when you experience a glitch in the matrix or a connectivity issue. When these glitches arise, it’s recommended that you follow these simple troubleshooting tips to see if you can reestablish a link back to the Softpak server.

One of the most common issues that can occur is your device losing connection with your truck’s built in wi-fi router. To properly address this issue, you should first confirm your device is indeed connected to your truck’s WIFI. You can confirm this by looking to the upper right-hand corner of your device and make sure the WIFI signal is present. If you’re not seeing that little icon, you’ll need to try to reestablish that connection by attempting to reconnect to your truck’s WIFI router.

If a Wi-Fi signal is present and you still can’t connect, you’ll need to reset the communication features inside the MobilePak app. To do this, you’ll need to click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the app. From there, you’ll select the troubleshooting menu located at the bottom of the popup screen which will open a new popup window. You’ll then proceed to hit the reset communication button. This will try to reestablish the connection between your tablet and the Softpak server.

If this doesn’t rectify the issue, you’ll then need to reset the master data on the device. This can be done by clicking the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and once again selecting the troubleshooting menu located on the bottom of that menu. Again, this will open a pop-up window where you’ll need to select “Reset Master Data”. This will purge any data that may be cached on your device and will try to reestablish a connection between your tablet and the Softpak server. This is more of a hard reset and can few minutes to reconnect.

If you’re still encountering connectivity issues after trying these three steps, it’s potentially a hardware issue. In these situations, you’ll need to toggle the power switch located on the side of the unit and select restart. Please note, when resetting your device always make sure you stay logged into the MobilePak user. This will continue to save your work without you needed to sign back in again. If the device powers back on and you’re still encountering issues, you’ll need to contact dispatch immediately and await further instructions.
